Book Review: Djinn by Laura Catherine

(I received this free ebook by the author in exchange for an honest review)
Goodreads Summary: Kyra’s life is far from normal.

She's been on the run for as long she can remember and her father is the only stable thing in her life, but everything changes when the people pursuing them finally catch up.

Kyra is abducted by the handsome and mysterious, Will. He takes her to a secret compound where she is told the truth: She's a Djinn, a genie-like creature with super powers and a love of dogs.

Kyra has to adjust to the Djinn and their rules, but her new life is far from perfect. Everyone is hiding something and the one person Kyra cares about most is forbidden to her.

There are secrets around every corner and more dangers than Kyra could ever imagine as she struggles to find herself and be with the one she loves.

I LOVED reading Djinn!  The writing was good, the characters were great, and the cover is perfect! Once I got done with the opening scene I knew it was going to be good.

Kyra and her father have been on the run for her whole life. He trains her to fight and to observe her surroundings. Kyra takes what her father teaches her and although she questions it she feels that he is just protecting her. She even goes through great lengths to not really get close to anyone. Suddenly everything that she has known was nothing but a huge lie. I don't want to give anything away so I'm just going to leave it at that :).

Will is just the perfect gentleman *swoons*. Although he is the perfect gentleman he can still kick some major butt. He fell in love with Kyra from the moment he saw her but because of his background she is forbidden to him. I loved reading Will's character.

The plot was very interesting and thought out. This was one of those books that you have to finish reading once you start. There is no stopping.

The only thing that I would have to say is that to me the ending felt rushed a bit. Other than that it was a great read. You cannot read this book and not read the next one. Questions were most definitely raised at the end.

The Mister Book Review

Goodreads synopsis:  London, 2019. Life has been easy for Maxim Trevelyan. With his good looks, aristocratic connections, and money, he’s never had to work and he’s rarely slept alone. But all that changes when tragedy strikes and Maxim inherits his family’s noble title, wealth, and estates, and all the responsibility that entails. It’s a role he’s not prepared for and one that he struggles to face.   But his biggest challenge is fighting his desire for an unexpected, enigmatic young woman who’s recently arrived in England, possessing little more than a dangerous and troublesome past.  Reticent, beautiful, and musically gifted, she’s an alluring mystery, and Maxim’s longing for her deepens into a passion that he’s never experienced and dares not name. Just who is Alessia Demachi? Can Maxim protect her from the malevolence that threatens her? And what will she do when she learns that he’s been hiding secrets of his own?   I will admit I did have some kind of salty feelings going int
