Book Review "The Sanctum: The Girl Book 1 by Madhuri Blaylock

(I received this free book from the author in exchange for an honest review)
Synopsis from Goodreads: The Sanctum, an all-powerful governing body founded by ten families, entrusted to maintain the peace amongst Magicals and ensure the ignorance of humans, has been corrupted by greed and savagery for generations, but is all Wyatt Clayworth has ever known.

A descendant of one of the Founding Families and Class A Warrior, Wyatt has always believed in the ways of The Sanctum, having grown up in the system and thrived under their leadership. A golden boy, renowned for his prowess and skill in battle, Wyatt has never questioned a mission or kill order until the night he crosses paths with a brutally injured and mysterious girl.

Scouring Central Park with his best friend and fellow Class A Warrior, Ryker Morrison, for the hybrid demon prophesied to bring an end to The Sanctum and destroy the world for Magicals and humans alike, Wyatt instead finds Dev and his whole life turns upside down. Told he was hunting a killing machine, hellbent on wreaking havoc and destruction upon all it encounters, Wyatt instead sees nothing more than a broken girl with haunted eyes and a bit of a death wish.

All Dev wants is for Wyatt to either kill her or leave her alone. When he refuses to do either, she finds herself being pulled into his life while being hunted by warriors everywhere she turns. Drawn to one another for reasons they cannot begin to explain to themselves, much less anyone else, Wyatt is determined to protect Dev and help her realize her mission to avenge the deaths of her family at the hands of The Sanctum. His abdication of his duties and his outright rejection of his responsibilities to The Sanctum create a maelstrom of events beyond anyone’s imagination

I absolutely loved loved loved this book!! Everything about it captivated me. The characters were beautifully written and the plot was well thought out I felt I was right there in the mist of everything that was going on in the book.

The Sanctum is an organization founded by ten families to deal with Magicals which are wizards, vampires, fairies, or anything that is magical. Wyatt and Ryker are two class A warriors that are in New York. They were sent on a mission to hunt down a hybrid (Dev)that is dangerous. Once they find her things start to turn especially for Wyatt.

I loved Wyatt in this book. He is so sweet and would do anything for Dev even kill if he has to. He loves her and She loves him

"Wyatt stepped closer to her and touched her face, her lips, her hair. She was filthy and battle-worn and more beautiful than ever. She was his ferocious queen".-Wyatt

Dev is the Hybrid Demon that Wyatt is sent to hunt and falls for her and she falls for him. She isn't just some beautiful face. She can kick some major butt!!

“I am one thousand percent a girl. A most powerful, awesome, brilliant girl who can destroy you with a thought. I can creep into your mind and persuade you to kill yourself. I am immune to your silly, little Raven blades and Shields of the Gods. I am smarter than your most intelligent officers” -Dev
At the beginning I felt so bad for her because of the hurt and pain that she was going through but slowly with Wyatt's help she starts to heal.

Ryker is Wyatt's best friend and loves him like a brother and vise versa. There isn't anything that Riker would not do for Wyatt

"I would never, and I repeat, never end your life. I don't care if you were metamorphosing into a wolf-vamp-demon that would hunt me until my dying days, drain me of every drop of blood in my body and then cast a spell on me so you could do it all over again. It wouldn't make a difference. I would rather spend the rest of my life avoiding you than spend it without you.-Ryker

Jools (Cool Name) is Wyatt's sister and loves him dearly. She may come off as an annoying little whining brat but what are little sisters for LOL.

I cannot wait for the next in the series. I enjoyed reading it so much!!

The Mister Book Review

Goodreads synopsis:  London, 2019. Life has been easy for Maxim Trevelyan. With his good looks, aristocratic connections, and money, he’s never had to work and he’s rarely slept alone. But all that changes when tragedy strikes and Maxim inherits his family’s noble title, wealth, and estates, and all the responsibility that entails. It’s a role he’s not prepared for and one that he struggles to face.   But his biggest challenge is fighting his desire for an unexpected, enigmatic young woman who’s recently arrived in England, possessing little more than a dangerous and troublesome past.  Reticent, beautiful, and musically gifted, she’s an alluring mystery, and Maxim’s longing for her deepens into a passion that he’s never experienced and dares not name. Just who is Alessia Demachi? Can Maxim protect her from the malevolence that threatens her? And what will she do when she learns that he’s been hiding secrets of his own?   I will admit I did have some kind of salty feelings going int
