Midweek Update

This is something that I have seen on other blogs about their weekly updates on life and blogging. I thought that it was different and interesting at the same time. So, I decided to do something along that avenue with Midweek Update. I will do it every Wednesday. It will be about things that I am trying out new, books, and other topics that I think would be interesting.

Bookish Topics
1.)Podcast. I made a post about podcast a while back and I have been in love with listening to them. A co-worker got me hooked on them and I enjoy listening while I'm at work. I'm a Y.A. Librarian and I found a lot of different review podcast to listen to. They are great for when working, doing some cleaning around the house, exercising, and much more. Let me know if you have some favorites that you guys listen to. I hope to one day be able have my own Podcast show.

2.) If you have been following me for the past few weeks I have started the audio book challenge. Audio books have never been my go to for reading books but lately I have found myself gravitating to them. I usually would only listen to them when there was a book that I had to get my hands on and the library would get the audio version first. Now, I use overdrive and axis 360 from my local library and I can now say that I love audio books as well. There is nothing like sitting in your favorite reading nook reading a physical copy with your favorite beverage but audio gets the job done too.

3. Books I just got from my local library

  The Red Queen -Victoria Aveyard
This book was recommened to me by a co-worker a while back. I am just now able to get my hands on it. I was going to purchase my own copy because everytime I would try to check it out it would be gone already. While I was going through the shelves I saw and immediatly grabbed it.

The Leaving-Tara Altebrando
I saw this on netgalley but because of the multiply request I wasn't able to get it. This looks really good and I fell in love with the synopisis. A good mystery and thriller.

Books I own
The Diviners by Libba Bray
I won this book through a giveaway. The only book that I read by Libba Bray was Going Bovine and I loved it. If you like the 1920s and supernatural things you will love this one as well.

Life in General

1.) I used to do theater when I was in high school. There was a musical called Big River about Huckleberry Finn that I did about 10 years ago. That play is being done again so I was asked to audition for it. Keep your fingers crossed that I do good on my audition because my voice is no where near how it was 10 years ago.

2.)This is my birthday month. I have absolutely nothing planned which is sad. Maybe dinner with friends sounds nice.

3.)Getting prepared for school. I was supposed to graduate last semester but Chemistry hated me. I will retake the course this fall and graduate. Keep me in your prayers that I do well and have a mindset of positivity because I refuse to go down that path again.

4.)Anybody that works in a library system knows that summer is the busiest part of our job. Our summer reading program has kicked off and the library is full of parents, children, and teens. Programs are literally everyday so us librarian are constantly on the move.

That is all for the weekly update. I know it wasn't much but its just a start. I would love to hear from any of you guys on updates about your blog or anything that you think is interesting.

The Mister Book Review

Goodreads synopsis:  London, 2019. Life has been easy for Maxim Trevelyan. With his good looks, aristocratic connections, and money, he’s never had to work and he’s rarely slept alone. But all that changes when tragedy strikes and Maxim inherits his family’s noble title, wealth, and estates, and all the responsibility that entails. It’s a role he’s not prepared for and one that he struggles to face.   But his biggest challenge is fighting his desire for an unexpected, enigmatic young woman who’s recently arrived in England, possessing little more than a dangerous and troublesome past.  Reticent, beautiful, and musically gifted, she’s an alluring mystery, and Maxim’s longing for her deepens into a passion that he’s never experienced and dares not name. Just who is Alessia Demachi? Can Maxim protect her from the malevolence that threatens her? And what will she do when she learns that he’s been hiding secrets of his own?   I will admit I did have some kind of salty feelings going int
