Book Review: The Mistake by Elle Kennedy

Goodreads Summary:
He’s a player in more ways than one…
College junior John Logan can get any girl he wants. For this hockey star, life is a parade of parties and hook-ups, but behind his killer grins and easygoing charm, he hides growing despair about the dead-end road he’ll be forced to walk after graduation. A sexy encounter with freshman Grace Ivers is just the distraction he needs, but when a thoughtless mistake pushes her away, Logan plans to spend his final year proving to her that he’s worth a second chance.

Now he’s going to need to up his game…

After a less than stellar freshman year, Grace is back at Briar University, older, wiser, and so over the arrogant hockey player she nearly handed her V-card to. She’s not a charity case, and she’s not the quiet butterfly she was when they first hooked up. If Logan expects her to roll over and beg like all his other puck bunnies, he can think again. He wants her back? He’ll have towork for it. This time around, she’ll be the one in the driver’s seat…and she plans on driving him wild.

This is the second installment of the Off Campus book series by Elle Kennedy. I have to say that although this one was good I liked the first one a bit more than this one. At the beginning I thought that although Logan had a crush on Hannah he still could have done a better way of handling the situation with his best friend. I also thought that the first real encounter with him and Grace was a very dickish move and he thought so as well. I don't want to spoil it so you have to read it to see what I'm talking about.

As the story progress I understood Logan's life as he has a totally different one outside of school. He has had to grow up early and his life after college is already set. The closer it gets for the end of school the more he has to come into understanding of what he has to face. It broke my heart for him to have to deal with what he was dealing with.

Grace at the beginning was very shy and always let others make decisions for her. Her best friend (if you would call her that) was anything but a best friend to her. It had to take hurt and betrayal for her take control of her life.

We still get to see Hannah, Garrett, and Dean. I can't wait to continue the series with Dean and Allie's story.

The Mister Book Review

Goodreads synopsis:  London, 2019. Life has been easy for Maxim Trevelyan. With his good looks, aristocratic connections, and money, he’s never had to work and he’s rarely slept alone. But all that changes when tragedy strikes and Maxim inherits his family’s noble title, wealth, and estates, and all the responsibility that entails. It’s a role he’s not prepared for and one that he struggles to face.   But his biggest challenge is fighting his desire for an unexpected, enigmatic young woman who’s recently arrived in England, possessing little more than a dangerous and troublesome past.  Reticent, beautiful, and musically gifted, she’s an alluring mystery, and Maxim’s longing for her deepens into a passion that he’s never experienced and dares not name. Just who is Alessia Demachi? Can Maxim protect her from the malevolence that threatens her? And what will she do when she learns that he’s been hiding secrets of his own?   I will admit I did have some kind of salty feelings going int
